Hello everyone! My name is Amy and I LOVE dogs, cats, and animals. My husband and I have 3 Beagles, I BIG Black Lab, 3 Cats, 2 Turtles and a Big Fish Tank. We have a passion for animals and their families. My husband loves the Big dogs and I fell in love with Beagles after my first Beagle, Pollyanna.(He now has a great love for the Beagles as well. From there our love just grew stronger in many animals and helping the furry friends and their families.

As a little girl, I had several pets growing up. I remember having ten puppies at one time, cats, and fish I could never seem to keep alive. (Like to jump out of their bowl). Those ten puppies, some healthy, some not so healthy, showed me many feelings I could have just over my own pets. Same with my husband, his childhood dog was Everything to him until a tragic story happened to his beloved pet.

Over the years, from a little girl to now an adult, I have learned things to do, not to do, how to take care of certain dogs, (they are not all alike just as we are not all alike), toys to play with, foods that keep changing, treats they love, and most of all the TLC they really need. As well as my knowledge as grown in other areas and animals with the help of my husband and local Pet store. I want to be able to share this knowledge with you and help make your lives with your furry friends a little easier.

OUR JOURNEY

As I was growing up; my parents made sure I always had a pet. It started with fish, I couldn’t keep them alive and was always heartbroken; then dogs and cats. My first dog Lady, as I mentioned above, had ten puppies some lived and some did not. Something I found really hard to accept because I wanted to keep them all! This was really the first lesson I remember about the loss of a pet that I can remember; outside of my fish. It was a lot of work and sometimes sacrifice of your time BUT the reward and love I felt at the end was the best!

After graduating from college, I owned my first puppy as an adult. My very own! Her name was Pollyanna. She passed away about 5 year ago with lymphoma. She was only 7. She still had a long life to leave me, I didn’t understand why, I didn’t want to believe it (we had been through a lot together those 7 years), and I wanted to do whatever it took to get her well and keep her around for a VERY long time but what I wanted was not in the cards.

Pollyanna was the start to our new additions to our family. My husband took me on a trip to Minnesota in which I met my Gracie Ann; two weeks later we brought her home. She is now 5 years old. In the last couple years, we adopted 2 more Beagles; Tiny and Tess, which are now 9, from our local Humane Society and Pet Store. They were in need or a home due to their owner getting sick and not being able to take care of them. We knew we had the perfect home and Gracie needed a pack:)

My parents surprised my husband with Duke, our black lab as a Christmas present after his Border Collie had passed away in those last few months, Duke is now 10 and as playful as he was as a small Big Pawed Puppy. He is my protector when dad is away. Great addition to our family.

In the last year we have acquired 2 turtles from the school which I worked and are now twelve years and a huge fish tank. This is where my husband and my story began and Now this is where YOURS begin With Us!!

OUR HOPES FOR YOU

Think of your pet as another family member or as yourself. The more I have been a pet owner the more and more I realized and am shown by them that they are no different from us.

Dogs need compassion, love, guidance, redirection, and made to feel like they belong. Cats want someone to be there to love them, take care of them, and sometimes guide them (on their terms).

Our turtles; I didn’t realize would get attached. Even they want to know that someone is going to be there to take care of them. Our fish are the same way. I learned this by watching my husband with them. The turtles show him love and compassion every time he feeds them. They come up to tug on the food dish or when he takes them out and lets them stroll in the grass.

Us as humans need the same love, compassion, guidance, and redirection as our pets do. We want to be able to help pass on our love, compassion, and knowledge of what we have learned through the years.

WISDOM FOR PAWS, FINS, AND CLAWS

My husband and I want to share with you our love, ideas, and our grief and hopefully give others comfort and knowledge to be able to take care and love your pets as we do ours!

We want to be able to share our thoughts, ideas, and even products, supplies of which we have found helped shaped our lives with our pets.

If you ever need a hand or have a question, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.

All the best,

Amy
